SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Robert ("Bob") Bedwell is a Partner in the firm's Audit and Assurance practice. He brings over 25 years of accounting experience in working with public, private and non-profit organizations to every audit engagement.
Private and public companies form the foundation of Mr. Bedwell's client base. He works closely with Chief Financial Officers and corporate executives in all aspects of financial statement preparation, auditing, SEC reporting, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, and financing.
Mr. Bedwell can assist you with a full range of corporate audit and assurance services, including regulatory compliance, accounting system oversight, internal controls and the independent review of external data.
Contract accounting for the construction industry is one of Mr. Bedwell's strengths. He is knowledgeable on acceptable methods of revenue and cost recognition in a "percent of completion" accounting methodology.
Mr. Bedwell has worked with many home builders. He understands the technical cost accounting factors that vary with types of land ownership and stages of development. He assists home builders with performance bond and construction loan qualifications. When critical loan covenants are involved, Mr. Bedwell is able to prepare the audited financial statements needed to meet regulatory, bonding and financing obligations.
Real estate developers rely on Mr. Bedwell for assistance in important tax matters, including selection of an appropriate entity type (partnership, LLC or corporation) and accounting treatment for land inventory. He advises developers regularly on the tax considerations of buying, selling and developing land for homes, golf courses and other real estate projects.
Manufacturing is another area of specialization for Mr. Bedwell. Auto suppliers, stair case builders and other manufacturers have retained Mr. Bedwell for his expertise in "work in process" accounting. Since every manufacturing process is unique, Mr. Bedwell is able to evaluate individual components and make recommendations on the most beneficial cost allocation to increase profitability.
