SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Marc Berenfeld is a senior partner in the firm with 22 years of experience in audit, accounting, tax compliance, tax consulting, litigation support and financial management services.
Mr. Berenfeld oversees the firm's audit department in the Coral Gables office, working closely with other members of the Audit & Assurance practice group to serve leading public companies in the South Florida market. Services include:
- Regulatory compliance (10Ks, 10Qs and other SEC reports)
- Debt and equity offerings
- Accounting system oversight
- Financial statement preparation
- Internal control attestation reports
- Independent review of external data
Assistance with an initial public offering (IPO), acquisition audits or M&A due diligence is available from Mr. Berenfeld and the Audit & Assurance department. The practice group also assists non-audit clients in meeting the strict internal control and compliance requirements imposed on public and some private companies by Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
Mr. Berenfeld is highly experienced in accounting and financial management for common interest realty associations. Services include collections, bill payment, preparation of monthly financial statements, and coordination with association board members on all aspects of financial operations.
Technology management is also one of Mr. Berenfeld's strengths. He serves as the firm's Chief Information Officer (CIO), connecting the firm's three South Florida locations.
Mr. Berenfeld is the co-author of several articles, brochures and continuing education presentations offered through the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 1997 to 2006.
